Roseraie Princesse Grace Museum - Garden
The Rose Garden was created on the initiative of H.S.H. Prince Rainier III in memory of Princess Grace.
This garden has found its home in the Fontvieille district, built entirely on land reclaimed from the sea on a seabed more than forty metres deep, on the Principality’s western coastline, on the edge of a 4-hectare landscaped park in the heart of the city centre.
Prince Rainier III’s wish was to create an English-style rose garden with curved lines, flowerbeds surrounded by lawns and a Mediterranean touch provided by the planting of century-old olive trees. The Rose Garden is dominated by a bronze statue of H.S.H. Princess Grace, created in 1983 by the sculptor KEES VERKADE, which truly gives it its ‘soul’.
